Say NO to GMO foods!

Action Alert: Label GMOs in Nevada!

Big Picture, Food Sanity, Health

Your help is needed to pass BDR 955, a bill to label genetically engineered foods in Nevada!  This bill would give Nevadans the right to know if genetically modified organisms are in our food, and to be able to make informed decisions when purchasing food for our families. It is an unfortunate fact that genetically […]

Events, Water

There will be a showing of the award-winning documentary film Flow at UNLV’s SEB Auditorium on Tuesday, March 19th at 7 PM. It will be followed by a panel discussion. I’ll be there and I hope you will as well. Water is fundamental to our lives, especially here in the Mojave Desert. Irena Salina’s award-winning […]

Green Economy, Green Living Columns

Recycling has been in the news a lot lately. Pilot programs have run for years and finally, after overwhelmingly positive results, local governments are adopting residential single-stream recycling valley-wide. That’s good news for all of us in Southern Nevada since it will be easier than ever for homeowners to reduce their waste and help the […]

Electric Vehicle Charging Station Map for Nevada

Clean Energy, Mobile Green, Transportation

Electric vehicles are hitting the road in ever-increasing numbers. Most are conveniently charged at home but when you’re on the road and need a little juice, it’s nice to know there is a growing network of public charging stations available around the valley. Here at GreenDream, we’ve been tooling around town on sunshine for over […]

Imagine you had some great products to sell. They were the best available in terms of value and longevity. They helped protect people’s health and improved their quality of life. They were so good that the people who actually found out about them agreed to buy as many as you could make for the price […]

I watched a really cool TED talk the other day. You know about TED, right? It is one of the most inspiring places on the web – a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Big Picture, Clean Energy, Deadly Energy, Green Living Columns

The policies set by local governments can do much to move us toward sustainability. We do not have to wait for national regulations to change the way we build or rebuild the homes in our communities. There is much to be done and with the political gridlock in Washington, local action is our best hope […]

Liking Las Vegas

Food Sanity, Green Building, Green Economy, Green Living Columns, Lifestyle

I’ve lived in Southern Nevada for about 35 years and, I must admit, I’m really starting to like it. I suppose it takes time for anyone to settle in, but in this case, it is the transformation of the community that is making the difference for me. Ever since Bugsy Siegel’s heyday, there has been […]

EnergyFit Nevada Makes a Difference!

Efficiency, Green Building, Green Living Columns, Lifestyle

My last column about the season of giving suggested that Green Living can be a wonderful way to express our appreciation to those we care about. Just after I wrote it, a friend sent a wonderful email providing a real world example of exactly what I had in mind. I’ll refer to this couple as […]

Season of Giving

We are right in the middle of the season often associated with giving. It is a time to express gratitude and love for those we care about, adding meaning and depth to our lives. It is all too easy to become sidetracked however. What could be a beautiful opportunity for reflection and conscious interaction is […]

Paying the Truth

The quickest way to create energy security, environmental healing and global social equity requires something we've never had - an honest marketplace.

If we simply "Pay the Truth" for the things we do, whether it is drilling, spilling and burning carbon or failing to safely use and then store nuclear waste, things will change for the better very quickly.
