Just Because We Can

Big Picture, Green Living Columns

We live in a culture with abundant choices and if anything, Green Living is all about choices. But having the freedom to choose is not enough. Choices can be good or bad. Context is a necessary ingredient when making decisions. Think about these two statements: Just because things are a certain way now does not […]

Home Improvements for Planet Earth

Big Picture, Green Living Columns

Home improvements for Planet Earth are in order. But before taking on such a big topic let’s look at more traditional forms of home improvements. There are so many options. Green Living Reader’s Poll

Big Picture, Green Living Columns

Lately I’ve been thinking about this column and just what it’s all about. Green Living, Home, Living Lighter on the Planet: topics that are probably helpful to some while others couldn’t care less. Learning from the Solstice

Big Picture, Clean Energy, Green Building, Green Living Columns

It is common to think of a solar-powered home as something new and unusual but people have been learning from the solstice for a long time. Thankful Green Living

Green Living Columns, Lifestyle

Electric Car Safety – The Real Story

Transportation

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of electric vehicles, especially when they can be charged with solar energy. Like many, I’ve seen the recent news coverage about fires in electric vehicles, the Tesla Model S in particular. Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk has responded on their company blog. The Real Story on Electric Car Safety […]

The Human Race – Can We Win It?

Big Picture, Green Living Columns, Lifestyle

It is interesting how some words have more than one meaning. Race is one of them. It can be a form of competition where the fastest one wins, but it can also be a group of people, such as the human race. The irony of this juxtaposition is that the human race is in a […]

Paying the Truth

The quickest way to create energy security, environmental healing and global social equity requires something we've never had - an honest marketplace.

If we simply "Pay the Truth" for the things we do, whether it is drilling, spilling and burning carbon or failing to safely use and then store nuclear waste, things will change for the better very quickly.
