Want to make sure that you don’t miss out on any of the events that are being scheduled for Earth Day? The Southern Nevada Group of the Sierra Club (Toiyabe Chapter) has created a special website just for EarthDay – check it out at EarthDayLV.com. The site is aiming to list all the local events that will be happening around Southern Nevada to celebrate Earth Day. Events are being added every day so check back often for updates, and after Earth Day, check in to find photos and stories about how everything went!
One thing you’ll want to know about is the Earth Week Film Festival, running from April 17th through 24th, 2010. Environmental documentaries and films will be shown throughout Las Vegas at various venues. Check the Film Schedule to find out what is playing, including links to each film’s website, the venue and maps to the location. The list includes some excellent films including: Food, Inc., Home Grown, Split Estate, The Cove and The Age of Stupid. Check them out, they are free and well worth the effort to attend.
Earth Day is more important than ever. Please join the celebration and practice of honoring our beautiful planet.
