Top 5 Things To Do

Top 5 Things To Do - Cut the carbon.

From my perspective, there is quite a gap between what is occurring in the world and the actions, or lack thereof, of the general public in the United States. Even those who understand the severity and potential harm of things like climate change and peak oil often behave as if somehow their personal actions do not matter.

I think we are living in a time where every single choice we make is meaningful. Question the carbon footprint of everything you do, buy and eat; then go for the lowest carbon solution. Sometimes that means *not* doing or buying anything at all.

There is nothing wrong with laying back and watching the clouds instead.

It Takes a Village

It takes a village and long term vision.

Street by Street, Green Living Can Transform an Entire City It Takes Long-Term Vision I recently had an opportunity to work with a great organization in our community, the Uplift Foundation of Nevada. Ever since Bugsy Siegel’s heyday, there has been […]

A Time of Momentous Change

Momentous Change

This is a time of momentous change, the kind of historically-significant, mind-altering transition that shapes the entire world far into the future. This week, it came to Las Vegas cleverly disguised as the National Clean Energy Summit 5.0: Power of Choice. Tuesday’s summit was indeed about the Power of Choice, and our choices are more […]

Keep Energy Efficiency Energized

We have power to save. Keep NV Energy's efficiency programs fully-funded.

Home energy efficiency is a very common topic around here. I believe it is one of the best investments a person can make. It’s also one of the best investments our society can make. Home efficiency saves resources, reduces pollution, increases comfort and improves the economy. The best results occur with the local utility gets […]

Jane Feldman’s Green Home

Jane Feldman visits and ancient home.

Green Living is an attitude more than anything else. At its core, there is deep caring and a sense of value for things that often do not carry an obvious price tag. Sure, anyone with ample cash can go out and buy a bunch of green stuff: a hybrid car, an efficient house or a […]
